Excellent information!

In my mind humans are designed as mostly carnivorous beings, and have been so for the most of their evolutionary history. Where are salicytes? In fruit, vegetables and honey. What did we only eat (very) sparingly when we were evolving?

My diet is primarily a raw paleo diet (whether raw is better than cooked is still debatable). Approximately 65% and 80% of energy from fat on days with low and high energy intakes respectively. Cycling between two days low, one day high ensures high levels of leptin and easy weight loss. Carbohydrates are in the range of 5-50 grams per day.

My diet is failsafe with one exception, some raw honey to sweeten custards I make with egg yolks, butter and vanilla. The honey is my only pure carb source. It might not have any effect, but I am considering sweetening with sugar instead. The benefits of raw honey are perhaps only that it is easier to digest than regular sugar. I cannot image that I am a stone-aged man looking for honey all the time when my efforts good be better spent killing a buffalo. Come to think of it, sugar is also unnatural. At least I am aware of it and not making such illusions as for example people being designed to eat leaves.

Some thoughts on diets that are different from the norm: Native peoples viewed food as something to make a healthy body and mind. You come to enjoy what is good for you after the addictions to "bad" foods pass. Quality of life is mostly about what you do and that you enjoy doing it. Avoiding foods that normal people eat, and thus being abnormal for 1-2 hours per day, does not reduce the quality of life. On the contrary, eating to maintain a superhealthy body, mentally clear mind and good mood will increase the quality of every waking and sleeping hour more than indulging in junk or "health"food for an hour or two per day.

School should be less about facts and more about how to find the truths and uncover the lies. A better society would follow if this were implemented. Be open-minded and skeptical.

Best regards,

Raw Paleo John
